About the Role

The “Manager – Accounts Payable” will work as an integral part of the corporate accounting team with the critical tasks of operational support, routine and ad hoc reporting, and departmentwide assistance for the USA region. The scope of this role includes high volume transaction processing, research & analysis, and business unit support and will report to the Accounts Payable Lead, under direction of the Global Process Owner.

Responsibilities:


  • Work with invoice systems, which processes invoices and exception management queue.

  • Ensure SOAs are reconciled and in line with the client accounting principles.

  • Ensure all AP focal works with business teams to resolve queries on the invoices.

  • Research and resolve payments exceptions and issues.

  • Handle general AP inquiries using Cargo wise tool.

  • Assess and drive productivity improvements. Work with projects team to drive process level initiatives.

  • Collaborate with business teams to ensure. Payables process KPIs are met on accuracy and timeliness.

  • Be a leader, lead from front in driving conversations with vendors and agents to solve AP issues.

  • Reconcile the AP subledger with the GL; Identify and resolve unaccounted transactions on a regular basis.

  • Complete month-end close proceedings and prepare subledger, purchasing, and expense accrual journals.

  • Assist with internal & external audit requests, as requested.

  • Participate in end-user testing for financial system implementation and upgrades.

Requirements

Qualifications:


  • MUST BE FROM THE FREIGHT FORWARDING INDUSTRY

  • Prior AP experience with Tier 1 ERP system (Cargowiseone) preferred.

  • Experience using accounts payable invoice automation solutions.

  • Experience with 3-way matched invoices.

  • Minimum of 8-15 years of business-related experience; accounts payable experience with US&UK region processes preferred.

  • Fluent in English is preferred.

  • Prior experience using incident management solutions.

  • General knowledge of accounting concepts & principles.

  • Excellent organization & time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Intermediate to Advance Excel skills.
